Music Videos
Max started his career as a music video director in the 2000s. He has worked alongside artists such as Three Days Grace, Bullet For My Valentine, T-Pain, Willie Nelson, B.B. King and others. Some of the music videos he’s directed are Jacquie Lee’s “Broken Ones”, Leela James’ “Fall For You”, Willie Nelson’s “Just Breathe” and Kirk Franklin’s “Declaration”.
Film Director
Inspired by his own father’s work, Max made his film debut as a director in 2014, with the movie “Two Night Stands”, the story of Megan and Alec, two strangers who meet through a dating website. While trapped inside Alec’s apartment, they are forced to deal with each other’s personalities and their feelings about it.
Max expressed his thoughts on the film: ‘…electronic dating slash hooking up has made the aftermath of being jilted, as Megan just was, easy and private.’
Max Nichols presented the movie’s plot to his father Mike, and simultaneously realized the movie reflected his story with his own wife, Rachel: ‘he (Max’s father) wisely introduced the topic of whether Megan and Alec’s relationship to ambition was a pitfall…. We ultimately concluded that they were giving each other permission to want what they really want, rather than what they’re supposed to want….I first heard that from my wife when we were dating’.
In 2017 Max directed the episode “Oasis” of the series “Day 5”, starring Jesse C. Boyd.
The drama series is set in a post-apocalyptic world, in which a group of people try to fight an epidemic that has affected the entire human race.
Max Nichols has also been credited as the director of “Chemistry Lessons” and “Heft”, but said projects are still in post-production and don’t have a release date yet.

Famous Spouse – Rachel Nichols
Rachel Nichols is a sports journalist, known from being the TV host for various sports channels. She was born on 18 October 1973, in Maryland, USA. She attended Northwestern University, from where she graduated with a degree in Journalism. Her career started in the early 1990s, when she started writing on the sports’ pages of various journals such as the Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel and the Washington Post’s section for the National Hockey League (NHL).

Although Max is known for being Rachel Nichol’s husband, his parents are also important figures in Hollywood.

Mike married four times: his first wife was Patricia Scott in 1957, but the couple divorced in 1960. Three years later he married Margot Callas, with whom he had a daughter named Daisy Nichols – they were together for 11 years until their divorce in 1974.
Mike married his third wife Annabel Davis-Goff in 1975, and they welcomed two children, Max and Jenny, but the couple divorced in 1986. Mike’s fourth wife was Diane Sawyer, who was an anchor for ABC, and who remained Mike’s wife until his death from a heart attack in 2014.
