Sarah was raised an only child in New York by her father who was a businessman, and her mother who was a high school teacher.

Sarah grew up reading girly magazines and dreaming about becoming a model or an actress one day. She was physically active at her elementary school, as she spent most of her spare time outdoors and played soccer and tennis.
