Vic was seven when he received his first guitar, and started learning to play it – he spent several hours practicing every day. He studied at Mission Bay High School at which he wasn’t very sporting, as he preferred to practice singing and acting as well as playing video games. Upon matriculation in 2001, Vic enrolled at San Diego State University to study graphic design, however, he dropped out to pursue his career as a musician, when his band Before Today signed a contract with Equal Vision Records.
Career as a singer

In 1998, he and his brother Mike founded their own band Early Times – after releasing three extended plays (EPs), the band had to be renamed for copyright violations, and Vic chose Before Today as the new name. They signed a deal with Equal Vision Records, and released their debut full-length album “A Celebration of an Ending” in 2004, but two years later the band disbanded.
Vic continued making music with his brother, and the duo’s debut song, “A Flair for the Dramatic” came out in 2007. They then started collaborating with Pierce the Veil, releasing three albums with them entitled “Collide with the Sky”, “Misadventures” and “Selfish Machines”.
