Early life and education
Jennifer hasn’t talked about any siblings, in fact it’s believed that she was raised an only child in Tuscarawas County, by her father William and her mother Cathy.
Jennifer was around eight years old when she became interested in journalism and reporting, and she and her friends Steffanie, Theresa and Erin, played with their imagined WJET TV station, recording fake news nearly every day. Jennifer went on to study at Dover High School, and during the four years she spent there became even more interested in journalism, while she was also keen on doing many other things, including acting with the school’s drama club, and helping organize various student events.
Upon matriculating in 2002, she enrolled at Ohio University’s E. W. Scripps School of Journalism, from which she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in 2006.
Career as a reporter
Jennifer started working as soon as she finished college, joining the TV station WBBJ-TV working as a reporter – for the job, she had to move to Jackson in Tennessee. After a while, Jennifer was allowed to anchor the weekend news, while she also had to work without the help of writers and additional crew, even occasionally shooting items of news by herself.

She went on to join Fox 61 (former Fox CT) in 2007, and thus moved to Hartford in Connecticut – she worked as a reporter for five years, including spending some time working as their weekend news anchor, before quitting in 2012.
During those years while she was working her way up in the field of journalism, Jennifer also worked as a freelancer, including writing columns for the largest daily USA newspaper “The Hartford Courant”.
She joined the golf lifestyle cable Back9Network in 2012 – owned by her former husband – and worked there for the following two years before being invited to join WNYW-TV, a Fox-affiliated network in New York City.
She was their general assignments reporter for the following three year,s before she started co-anchoring their morning show “Good Day Wake Up”.
