Iain Alan Sutherland Glen was born on 24 June 1961 in Edinburgh, Scotland. He has not provided information on his father and mother. Regarding his education, he completed study at an independent school for boys, at the Edinburgh Academy, and later joined the University of Aberdeen. Besides, he also enrolled at the RADA in London to pursue his acting career. During that time, he had won the Bancroft Gold Medal.
Further, he is the youngest brother of Hamish Glen who is the artistic director of the Belgrade Theatre. He began his acting career with minor roles on the television screen in 1986 as a Scott Adair in Taggart. Following that, he appeared on several series and dramas including Screen two, The Fear, Frankie’s House, Painted Lady, The Wyvern Mystery, Kidnapped, Haven, Breathless, and Titans.
