Early life and education

Kelly was raised in Davie alongside her two sisters Carolyn and Kaitlyn Nash by their mother who is a housewife, and their father Ed Nash who is a fisherman. Her family is originally from Portugal, as her paternal grandfather came to Florida USA in his teens.

She grew up watching baseball with her father and sisters, and her favorite team has always been Miami Marlins, and after watching sports anchors, she decided that she wanted to become a journalist and a reporter.

She attended St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where she was mostly focused on her journalism club, while also physically active playing lacrosse and soccer. Upon matriculation, she enrolled at Clemson University in South Carolina on a full scholarship if she covered their sports events as a reporter.

She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication in 2006, then continued her education, and obtained her Master’s degree in 2009 from the same college.

Kelly further improved her education by receiving a Master’s degree in TV broadcast journalism in 2010 from the University of Miami.

Career as a reporter and journalist

She launched her career as a journalist in 2011 when she joined the ACC Digital Network, serving as a host and production assistant before moving to Fox Sports Florida.

She worked as their sideline reporter, and during the time spent with them covered the baseball team Tampa Bay Rays, the basketball team Orlando Magic, and the hockey team Tampa Bay Lightning.

In March 2015, Kelly became a member of the MLB Network team, serving as their host and reporter often providing material for the National Hockey League Network, and was soon made the host of shows “Quick Pitch” and “On The Fly”.
