While completing her studies, she was already active in the entertainment industry, first joining Disney Channel India as a teen, in which she was mainly a video jockey. Her close association with the company eventually led her to be cast in various advertisements, films, sitcoms, and even music recordings. One of her earliest professional endeavors was in the musical “Grease”, in which she portrayed the role of Sandy.
Rise to Fame
Tara became known for her songs and recordings, leading her to travel to various countries to perform. She visited Lavasa, Mumbai, Tokyo, and London as a part of a tour with Disney.
She also collaborated with other performers such as Louiz Banks, Mikey McCleary, and the Stop-Gaps Choral Ensemble – her vocal ability and her operatic experience also helped in this regard, and she was nominated for a Pogo Amazing Kid Award.

The film’s actresses were well received, but it did not fare so well with critics, due to its poor script and lack of depth, and didn’t do well at the box office. However, Tara earned praise for her looks and performance, leading her to be nominated for a Filmfare Award.
Her next project would be in the action film “Marjaavaan”, in which she portrayed a mute teacher named Zoya. She worked on the film alongside Rakul Preet Singh, Sidharth Malhotra, and Riteish Deshmukh, and for her role she had to learn sign language, but again, the film didn’t fare well with the critics – many disliked the fact that her mute role only left her with scenes of smiling and crying.
Her next project is the film “Tadap” which is directed by Milan Luthria. She’ll star alongside newcomer Ahan Shett in the film which is still under production.
She also signed a new contract for a sequel to the 2014 film “Ek Villain” in which she will work alongside Disha Patani, John Abraham, Aditya Roy Kapur.
