He played for the Detroit Pistons until 1993, then for the San Antonio Spurs from 1993 to 1995, the Chicago Bulls between 1995 and 1998, the Los Angeles Lakers in 1999 and the Dallas Mavericks in 2000.

During his career, Dennis was named seven times to the NBA All-Defensive First Team, to the NBA All-Star game twice, won five NBA championships with his teams, two NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award..
