Early Life and Career Beginnings

Lisa was born in the Marshall Islands where her father served in the US Navy. The islands are close associates of the US located in the Pacific though the islands itself are independent of US governance. There is a presence of military there due to its geographic location. Her parents’ relationship didn’t last long, and she soon moved to Hawaii with her mother.

She grew up in Hawaii, and then turned back to the main continent as she settled with her mother in Los Angeles – her mother had a lot of problems as she grew up, mainly stemming from an addiction to alcohol. Her career in the entertainment industry started as a child, as she began gaining modeling opportunities.

This led to her first television appearance, a guest role in the show “Dr. Kildare” based on the character Dr. James Kildare created by author Frederick Schiller Faust. The character was very popular in films during the 1930s and 1940s, as wel as in the subsequent TV series.

The Addams Family – Rise To Fame

Shortly after her appearance in “Dr. Kildare”, she was cast in the sitcom “The Addams Family” which ran from 1964 to 1966. The show is based on the cartoons created by Charles Addams, whose recurring characters were later associated together, creating the Addams family. While only having a run of two years, the show became iconic, mostly for its theme song which was written by composer Vic Mizzy.

Lisa’s fame grew thanks to the show, with a lot of people associating her with her character, Wednesday Addams.

She was then cast in another sitcom, “The Pruitts of Southampton” which also aired on ABC for a year. The show is inspired by the Patrick Dennis novel “House Party”, and tells the story of the titular Pruitt family – the show was an effort to make Phyllis Diller stand out like the success of Lucille Ball, but it eventually failed and is considered one of the worst television shows of all time. After her work there, Lisa then took a long break from acting, as she continued school.

There was a possibility that she would end her career, especially after the events of her teenage years which involved her starting a family.

Return to Acting

After raising a child and spending a few years away from the business, Lisa returned as a regular cast member of the soap opera “As the World Turns”, portraying the character Cricket Montgomery. The soap holds the third spot of the longest continuous run of a daytime soap at 54 years, surpassed only by “General Hospital” and its sister show “Guiding Light”. The show is set in a fictional town, following several families who are headed by professionals in the medical and legal fields.

Following her work there which lasted for around three years, Lisa then had a series of horror films, which were her last projects. In 1987 she starred in “Blood Frenzy” which was directed by Hal Freeman, and tells the story of a psychiatrist who goes on a trip with patients as a part of therapy when they are stalked by a serial killer. Her final film was the 1988 slasher “Iced” which also starred Debra De Liso, Doug Stevenson, and Elizabeth Gorcey, in the story of a group of friends who receive an invitation to an isolated ski resort, where they are then targeted by a killer.

Later Career and Jerry Butler

Before retiring from acting, Loring worked as a make-up artist to make ends meet. She also did a bit of writing, but found her stride working in the adult industry as part of the production crew for pornographic films. While working there she met and started a relationship with pornographic actor Jerry Butler, whom she had first worked with on the set of “Traci’s Big Dick”. The two later married, and she was initially fine with his continued activity in the porn industry as he was no longer working as an actor.

However, over the years, his involvement started to wear her down, and Butler began secretly performing in several porn shoots without her consent.

In the 1990s she appeared in the show “Dateline NBC” alongside her husband, where he expressed that he was ashamed of his behavior and that he had become addicted to his life in porn. The two also appeared in the “Sally Jessy Raphael Show”, where Loring threatened that their marriage was breaking apart. The two eventually divorced, and that was the final straw that led him to leave the porn industry for good.

Personal Life

Before meeting and marry Butler, Lisa’s first notable relationship was with Farrell Foumberg, a childhood sweetheart whom she had a daughter with when she was only 15 years old.

The two married before their daughter’s birth, but only stayed together for a year. She met her next husband in the late-1970s, actor Doug Stevenson who was known for his work in the soap “Search for Tomorrow” – they also had a child, but their marriage only lasted for two years. After her documented problems with Butler, they divorced in 1992 following five years of marriage. She was out of the spotlight for many years, but in 2003, it was announced that she had married Graham Rich. They reportedly separated in 2008 but didn’t file a divorce until sometime in 2014. It is not known if they proceeded with the divorce, or what Lisa’s current situation is.
