Marriage with Margera
Missy and Bam met during their junior year at West Chester East High School. Brandon Cole ‘Bam’ Margera was born on the 28th September 1979, in West Chester, Pennsylvania, of American nationality and white ethnicity, the younger son of beautician and hair-dresser April, and her husband Phil Margera who was a bookkeeper; he has an older brother named Jess. Bam. He began attending West Chester East High School, but dropped out after his junior year.
Bam’s skateboarding career began in 1997, and not long after he began recording himself skateboarding and doing stunts which eventually became “CKY” – Camp Kill Yourself video series.
Due to the popularity that these videos roused among the audience, alongside several friends Margera founded the CKY Crew, which then released three more skating motion pictures, simply labeled as “CKY2K”, “CKY3” and “CKY4”. On the path to stardom Margera stepped in late 2000. When with Steve-O, Johnny Knoxville, Dave England and Chris Pontius, he joined the crew of “Jackass“. A series popular for its crazy and often life-threatening stunts and quite cruel and controversial pranks, “Jackass” aired on MTV for three seasons ’til 2007, producing a total of 55 episodes as well as six spin-off movies, such as “Jackass: The Movie” (2002), “Jackass Number Two” (2006), “Jackass 3D” (2010) and the 2013 Oscar-nominated comedy film “Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa”.

To greater prominence Margera came in 2003, when his own TV reality series “Viva la Bam” began airing on MTV. As a Jackass’ spin-off show, it was written and produced by Margera himself, and filmed at his 14-acres-large Castle Bam property in Pennsylvania. Being aired for five seasons ’til 2006, it featured his family members and friends, and produced a total of 40 episodes, each with a specific theme, mission or a task to complete.
From 2001 to 2016, Bam ‘rode’ as a member of the Team Element skateboarding crew, before he officially retired in 2017.
In August 2019 the LAPD arrested Margera after he refused to check-out from the Luxe Sunset Boulevard Hotel in LA, California, while a couple of days later he was hospitalized due to edema. Bam’s alcoholism is well known as it’s resulted in a number of public incidents, including arrests, and several half-hearted attempts at rehab, the latest in late 2019.
After divorcing from Missy Rothstein, in 2013 he married Nicole Boyd with whom he welcomed his only child so far, a son named Phoenix Wolf born in December 2013.
