Early Life and Career Beginnings
While Moon was born in Alliance, her family later moved to Anaheim, California, where she would grow up. She is a Korean American, with Korean descent from her mother’s side. Her father met her mother while stationed in South Korea, indicating that he may have a military background, though details have never been iterated. She took up her education in California. and she aspired to make it big in the entertainment industry.
With her model-like qualities and skills in dancing, she gained her first opportunity as a part of the Laker Girls, the cheerleading squad of the professional basketball team, the Los Angeles Lakers who compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA).
She was 17 when she joined the group, the Laker Girls were among the first cheerleader groups to be established in the NBA. She built her experience and confidence there, eventually leaving the group to pursue professional modeling projects. She didn’t make it big as a model, but was still earning well, and it also led to her desired outcome, an opportunity in acting.
Transition to Acting
Bloodgood experienced her first acting project in the video game “Nuclear Strike”, in which she voiced the character Naja Hana. The game was released for PlayStation, and was a part of the “Strike” series which began during the time of the Sega Genesis.

The show had promise, but the Writers Guild of America strike ended its momentum, and in the meantime, she began focusing more on films, as she appeared in “Eight Below” and “Pathfinder”, the latter starring Karl Urban and Clancy Brown. In 2009, she was cast as Detective Maya Sunee in the film “Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li”, an adaptation of the video game “Street Fighter”, following the story of the character Chun-Li, portrayed in the film by Kristin Kreuk.
Terminator and Falling Skies
In 2009, Moon got one of her most notable film roles, as she was cast as Blair Williams in “Terminator Salvation”. The film is the fourth installment of the “Terminator” film series, starring Christian Bale and Sam Worthingto, and is set in a post-apocalyptic 2018 when the machine network of Skynet wages war with humanity, with most of the world in ruin because of it. The film was intended to be a new trilogy, and despite grossing highly, the production company filed for bankruptcy due to problems within the production that left them with no money. The film’s rights were later sold, resulting in “Terminator Genisys” and “Terminator: Dark Fate”.
In 2011 Moon was cast as one of the lead characters in the show “Falling Skies”, produced by Steven Spielberg, which tells the story of a history professor turned rebel leader following an alien invasion that sends the world into an apocalypse. The show had positive reviews for most of its run over four seasons, concluding in 2015.
A few of Moon’s latest appearances include “Code Black” in 2018, and from 2019, a main role in the 11th season of “NCIS: Los Angeles”. She hasn’t appeared in any new film projects since 2012.
Personal Life
Moon met director Grady Hall sometime in the late-2000s, and they began a relationship leading to marriage in 2011. He is known for his work in music videos, working with the likes of Katy Perry, Capital Cities, and Beck. He is also well-known for his work in commercials, handling many high profile ones during his career. The couple have two children together, but after seven years before they divorced in 2018, the reasons for which haven’t been publicly disclosed.
