Daveigh Elizabeth Chase— formerly Chase-Schwallier— was born on the 24^th July 1990, in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA to Cathy Chase and John Schwallier. She has a younger brother named Cade – her name was changed after her parent’s divorce. The family moved to Albany, Oregon while she was an infant. Chase had an strong interest in performing from a young age saying, ‘I used to watch Barney videos. I wanted to be like them, the kids on the video’. She has also recorded four original songs.

Chase’s first role as a voice actor was in 2001, as Chihiro in the anime “Spirited Away”. She had her big break in 2002 as Lilo Pelekai in Disney’s “Lilo and Stitch” after a successful audition for the part against 150 girls and a number of adults. The film is about an Hawaiian girl who befriends a blue alien disguised as a dog—Stitch— and how she uses Elvis Presley’s music to teach it to behave.
