Paul was raised alongside his brother in Tacoma, by their father who was a car mechanic, and their mother who worked at a local law firm as a secretary.
Paul became physically active while attending high school, as he played soccer and football while he was also interested in acting, singing and playing the guitar. As he was playing sports and saw numerous injuries, he steadily became interested in medicine, and decided to work towards becoming a physical therapist for professional sportspeople. Upon matriculation in 1983, Paul enrolled at the University of Puget Sound, and there ran for the school’s track team, competing mostly in 400m races – he graduated in 1987 and continued his education at Western Michigan University, from which he graduated with a Master’s degree in sports medicine in 1989.
Paul’s career
Paul launched his career as a physical therapist not long after obtaining his Master’s degree, and around the same time started competing as a professional golfer. Since his divorce from Danica, Paul has been staying away from media attention, but it’s known that he has continued with his career as a physical therapist, and has also started teaching both rookies and professionals how to play golf, while he also still occasionally competes himself.
