The star won his first modeling contest at the age of 16. Not only that but he spent thousands to transform himself into a real-life version of Barbie‘s boyfriend, Ken.

Celso Santebanes, the Brazilian model who earned the nickname Human Ken Doll died after a five-month battle with Leukemia.

At the age of 20, the Brazilian model passed away at 4:30 pm at the Federal University of Uberlândia Clinical Hospital. There he had undergone a battery of chemotherapy treatments starting in December of 2014.

When did the model know that he suffered from the disease? Well, he first discovered that he had cancer after he went to a hospital to treat an infection caused by hydrogen fillers injected into his legs.

After knowing that he had suffered a horrible disease, the Human Ken Doll took to Instagram to explain his diagnosis.

About his battle with cancer, the British-born model stated that he began his chemotherapy and also showed concern about the side effects like hair loss, nausea, and many others.

For me that doesn’t matter. What matters is my health now, and I will fight for it

After a long hard-fought battle, the star died. He was buried in his native land, Sao Paulo at the weekend.

At his funeral, his father Celia Borges told reporters :

When he was starting to fulfil his dreams, he discovered his illness and his dreams were interrupted.

Celso had a lot of plans to succeed but, God had other ideas!

For his amazing look, the Brazilian model made headlines for spending £30,000 on four plastic surgeries. He spent more than $10 thousand on surgery to transforming himself into a real-life version of the iconic doll Barbie’s boyfriend, Ken.

The British-born model began the surgical transition into the Mattel doll after winning a modeling contest at age 16. He had undergone surgery on his lips, nose, and also altered the shape of his face in a quest to look like Barbie’s boyfriend.

For his doll-like looks and appearances in VIP events, Celso charged £10,000. The media personality who called himself a doll enthusiast launched his line of Celso Dolls before his death.
