Cara Delevingne Early Life
Delevingne is the daughter of Pandora Anne and property developer Charles Hamar Delevingne. She raised in Belgravia, London, one of the wealthiest districts of the world.
She has two sisters, Chloe and model Poppy. Her godfather is Conde Nast executive Nicholas Coleridge, and her godmother is actress Joan Collins.
And her maternal grandfather was publishing executive. Her great paternal grandfather was the Canadian born British politician Hamar Greenwood, 1st Viscount Greenwood, and her maternal grandfather Janie Sheffield was a lady—waiting to Princess Margaret.
She went to Francis Holland School for Girls in central London, until she was 16, before shifting to Bedales School in Hamshire. She has dyspraxia and consequently found school challenging. After completing her GCSE examinations, she moved to Bedales School in Hampshire, to focus on drama and music. After one year, she dropped out and followed the career of her sister, Poppy, into modeling.
Cara Delevingne Modeling Career
Cara started modeling at the age of 10 only in an editorial shot by Bruce Weber for Vogue Italia alongside model Lady Eloise Anson. She signed with Storm Model Management in 2009. She worked in the industry for a year before looking a paying job. And passed two seasons of casting before starting her first runway show.
Cara attracted towards fame after being scouted by Burberry’s Christopher Bailey in 2012 while doing part-time in the office of a fashion website. She featured In the company’s spring/summer 2011 campaign.
First catwalk appearance of Cara was at Feb 2011 London Fashion Week, stepping out in the Burberry Prorsum autumn/winter collection. Jourdan opened and closed the show with Cara appearing sixth. 2012
Cara then commenced the early 2012 season by walking in the channel Couture spring show, at Grand Palais, Paris, on Jan 24, 2012. The stage was set to resemble an airplane and the clothes the models wore vaguely referenced airline flight attendant uniforms.
New York Fashion Week was the first of the ‘big four’ fashion weeks, within which Cara walked in nine shows for fashion houses including Jason, Donna, Tory, Oscar, and Carolina. After one week, the London Fashion Week held. She openly participated in the Burberry Prorsum Women wear autumn/winter 2012 show, in Feb 2012, in the front row were the celebrities including Cameron, Will, and Burberry. After the single emergence of Cara in London, she participated in six more shows in the third of the big four fashion weeks, the Milan Fashion Week.
In Milan, she worked in walks inclusive of Fendi, Trussardi, Dolce, and Blumarine. For the walk-in Dolce & Gabbana autumn/winter 2012 show, she wore a lace and embroidered dress and was watched by fellow Brit Dame Helen Mirren, who was sitting in the front row.
The finale fashion week was the Paris Fashion Week, in which she walked in seven shows for Nina, Sonia, and Stella. In an interview, Elle told to the camera “Cara is different, she is full of life, full of pep.”
Over the four fashion weeks, she had walked in more than 20 shows and had earned a name for herself. The international fashion weeks started again in Sep 2012 where first shows of the season were in New York, and Cara actively participated in that.
2013
Cara moved to London to commence proceedings for London Fashion Week. In London 2012 Summer Olympics, the front row of the show littered with British medal winners including Victoria and Murray. Cara played her first role in the 2012 film adaptation of Anna Karenina, as Princess Sorokina. In 2014 she made her first TV debut in the final episode of Playhouse Presents. She went on to play the part of Melanie in the British psychological thriller film The Face of an Angel, accompanied by Daniel and Kate.
In 2014, she cast in a comedy “the feeling nuts comedy night.”
In 2015, she co-starred I the adaptation of Papers Towns, as Margo. The film was a great success.
In 2016, she co-starred as Enchantress, a villainess with magical abilities, in Suicide Squad. Then she also played in Luc Besson film Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. In the following year, she also remained busy in her roles.
