Eckhart was born in Cupertino, California on March 12, 1968, he is the son of Mary Martha Eckhart who is known as a writer, artist, and poet, and James Conrad Eckhart, who is recognized as a computer executive. Aaron is the youngest of his three brothers. His father is a German-Russian man, on the other hand, his mother is English, German, Scots-Irish, and Scottish woman. He was brought up as a Mormon in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and lived there and served a two-year mission in France and Switzerland as well.

Eckhart’s family moved to England in the year 1981, for his father’s job in information technology in an England’s corporation. The family relocated to Surrey and lived in towns like Cobham, Ripley, and Walton-on-Thames. Eckhart joined American Community School in England. It was the first place he was initially introduced to acting, appearing in a school production as Charlie Brown.

In the year 1985, Aaron Eckhart shifted to Australia and settled in Sydney, where he went to American International School of Sydney for getting the education of his high school senior year; furthermore, he furnished his acting skills in productions as Waiting for Godot, where he states that he gave a “dreadful” performance. In the year 1999, he appeared as opposite Elisabeth Shue in Molly, a romantic comedy-drama in which he acted as the self-absorbed brother of an autistic woman who was under treatment by surgery. Eckhart also appeared that year as a football coach, an offensive coordinator in Oliver Stone’s Any Given Sunday as well.

Leading the launch of Erin Brockovich, Eckhart appeared with Renée Zellweger in LaBute’s Nurse Betty (2000). Afterward, He performed in Sean Penn’s mystery feature The Pledge (2001), in which he acted a young detective paired with a veteran detective, acted by Jack Nicholson. In the year 2003, Eckhart performed with Hilary Swank in The Core, a film about a geophysicist who wants to explode a nuclear device for the sake of saving the world from destruction. The same year,  Eckhart appeared as a guest in two episodes of NBC’s comedy sitcom Frasier, where he acted as the boyfriend of Charlotte, Dr. Frasier Crane’s love interest. His next film role involved E. Elias Merhige’s thriller Suspect Zero. A movie which is about an FBI agent who finds out a killer who kills serial killers.

Whose company researched the connection between smoking cigarettes and lung cancer. Following the year, he appeared with Helena Bonham Carter in Conversations with Other Women (2006).  The same year, Eckhart was offered to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Eckhart performed as a guest in the 2008 comedy Meet Bill, in which he acted the eponymous character.

He next performed with Jennifer Aniston in the romantic drama Love Happens. That released in September 2009, that proved as a motivational speaker coming to terms with his own grief.

He always opposed to revealing about his relationships in interviews. Eckhart also dated with a songwriter and member of SHeDAISY, Kristyn Osborn, from the year 2006 to 2007. Eckhart stated much about his beliefs, his way of life, and his future career wishes and plans. In an interview, Eckhart told that before he entered the acting career, it was his wish to become a songwriter.
