Tanaya is of Nepalese descent through her father, while her mother is a member of the indigenous Awaetlatla group in Canada also known for being a part of Canada’s First Nations. The films followed suit, and she became a part of the sequel to 2010’s “Eclipse”, playing the role of the older sister of Jacob Black, who featured in the entire film series. The medical drama series aired on NBC, and tells the story of hospital staff working in the emergency room (ER) of the San Antonio Memorial Hospital. She worked on the series for a year, and concurrently also starred in the Canadian film “Hochelaga, Land of Souls”, alongside Gillies Renaud and Samian. Personal Life
Tanaya Beatty is single and there have been no reports about any past or present romantic endeavors her way. In 2019, she became involved in a controversy with Dior, as she filmed an advertisement for the company alongside Johnny Depp, but which was controversial and was quickly taken down after it was posted, due to its apparently poor depiction of Native American women. She later spoke out, saying that she continued with filming in hopes of having the conversation be brought up of how the population generally perceive indigenous people. She didn’t blame Depp or Dior, saying that the company was intent on giving to and respecting indigenous culture, but didn’t think the message of their ad through.
