Amy Hoover Sanders was born in El Paso, Texas USA, on 28 September 1981, the daughter of influential real estate tycoon William Sanders and his wife Louann, who is a housewife. She grew up in a large family with two brothers and two sisters, and she is the middle daughter.

Amy’s maternal grandfather was Ricke Harlan Feuille, a prominent figure in Mexico City. She went to a local high school in El Paso, and after matriculation enrolled at Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 1994, and a certificate in the Spanish language.

Amy wanted to become a teacher, and to get started she went to Guatemala, recruited as a kindergarten teacher and spent a year at Colegio Americano de Guatemala. She initially taught first and second grade, and then from 2007 to 2013 also served as the superintendent.

Furthermore, she was a part of the Centro de Salu Familiar La Fe, which is a non-profit organization. Beto then announced his intent to run for President of the United States in the 2020 United States presidential election. In his last year of college, Beto for the first time experienced jail. He and his friends were involved in a felony as they were caught jumping over a fence at the University of Texas, El Paso (UTEP), were caught by the UTEP police and jailed overnight – bail was posted the next day.

Three years later, he was caught driving while intoxicated (DUI) but the charges were later dismissed as he completed a DUI program recommended by the court. This was later used as a dirty laundry by his political opponents, but Beto apologized for his actions and stated that he was “grateful for the second chance”.
