He was born to the Chemical Bank Corporation’s private division President, Anne Brewster, and Real Estate Dealer and Lawyer, James W. Shue. Andrew was raised with his elder sister, Elizabeth Shue, who made an appearance in the famous 1984’s “Karate Kid.” He is also brother to the late William Shue and John Shue.

Andrew was enrolled at Columbia High school, Maplewood, NJ where he created the Hall of Fame – his sister became a Hall of Fame member in 1994. He attended the same high school with future actor/director Zach Braff; they even lived in the same neighborhood.

Shue later appeared as an abusive husband in “The Rainmaker” by Francis F. Coppola which starred Claire Danes and Matt Damon. In 1996, Andrew was traded with the former SportsCenter correspondent, Charley Steiner, in a SportsCenter commercial on ESPN – Shue took his position on SportsCentre and Steiner took Shue’s on “Melrose Place.”

In 2007, Andrew worked on “Gracie’s” 2007 future film, and created Usra Major Films together with his brother John, his sister Elizabeth, and “An Inconvenient Truth” Oscar-winning director and brother-in-law Davis Guggenheim. He co-produced “Gracie” and played a minor role.
