She is currently serving as the Conservative MP for Southend West after winning the 2022 Southend West by-election caused by the killing of David Amess. Previously, She served as a district councilor on Sevenoaks District Council for the area covering Brasted, Chevening, Sundridge, and Ide Hill from May 2011 to her resignation on 7 January 2022.
Outside of Politics, she is the Chief-Executive of the Invicta National Academy, a not-for-profit community interest company, helping children of the UK catch up on missed learning caused by covid-19. She has previously served as a grammar school governor, a charity trustee for MIND.
