To be born as “Twins” is a trendy trend in today’s world of Tiktok and Instagram, which surely has brought up much attention. It can be seen in Hollywood as well, as there are way more twins who have achieved fame together most notably the Mowrys sisters, Tia and Tamera Mowry, the Olsen twins, and Dylan and Cole Sprouse.
They all rose to fame as twins entering the Hollywood world as package deals in their on-screen appearances. However, not all the twins are given the same preferences which can be seen in the case of Tia and Tamera.
Tia and Tamera are the popular American actress who gained recognition for their starring role as Tia Landry and Tamera Campbell in the sitcom, “Sister, Sister”(1994–1999). Their presence in the show earned them much popularity leading to another reality television series following the twin sister’s lives, titled “Tia & Tamera”.
Even so, they look the same, from their hair to their noses to their smiles, Tamera always suffered insecurity that she was the ‘ugly’ twin. Their popularity also caused a difference between them as Tia has more film credits than Tamera. Whatsoever, Tia and Tamera love each other and have been there for each other since their birth for 42 years and counting.

Are Tia and Tamera Identical Twins?
It was a sudden shock to everyone when the twin sisters, Tia and Tamera Mowry made a sudden decision of checking out their DNA test to know if they were actually identical twins after almost 35 years of togetherness back in 2013. Their sudden realization left everyone awestruck as the sisters had assumed their whole lives to be twins, but they never got a Twin Zygosity DNA Test to prove it.
There might be a question of why a DNA test was even needed when Tia and Tamera looked so identical. But there are many cases where twins look alike, but they are technically only fraternal twins. Even doctors made the determination of identical vs. fraternal based on looks!
Tia and Tamera tested out to know their identity proving they share 100% of the same DNA and are therefore identical twins. Proved to be identical twins, they still have some differences like; Tamera has a mole on her left cheek, just below her eye but Tia doesn’t.
The DNA analyst told them that there could be other reasons why they don’t look even more like—it may be any sort of minor trauma experienced during birth, like compression through the birth canal, or even how they shared the womb.
While it is so obvious that they turned out to be identical, it’s not always the case as the Olsen Twins, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen look so much alike yet they’re actually fraternal twins, not identical twins.
