Biography
Arjun Rampal was born on Nov 26, 1972, in Mumbai, India. He is an Indian film actor, producer, screenwriter, model, and TV personality. Rampal made his acting debut in Rajiv Rai’s romance Pyar Ishq Aur Mohabbat in 2000, which flopped at the box office but it provided fame to Arjun. He won several awards for his work including a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut.

He was born in a family having a military background. His paternal family is Punjabi Hindus, while his maternal family was Sikh and his maternal grandmother was Dutch. He stayed with his mother after the separation of his parents. He went to St. Patrick School where his mother was working as a teacher. Arjun then attended the prestigious Kodaikanal International School. He graduated with a degree in economics with honors from Hindu College, Delhi. He wanted to become supermodel of India.

Arjun is married to Mehr Jesia in 1998. The couple has two daughters, Mahikaa who was born in 2002 and Myra whose birth took place in 2005. Arjun is an atheist.

Rampal made his acting debut in the film in 2001, Pyar Ishq Aur Mohabbat where his opposite was Sunil Shetty and Aftab. His performance was brilliant, and he earned his name from there. Then he got critical acclaim for his performance in the movie. This film made Rampal as the leading hero in the Indian film industry. He got a nomination for Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut but swapped the awards in the Best Male Debut category at the Star Screen and IIFA ceremonies. Next release of Arjan Rampal was “Deewanapan” in which he paired with Dia Mirza. The film flopped at the box office, but once again Rampal increased his experience as a hero.
The first release of Rampal in 2002 was “Aankhain” in which he starred in an ensemble cast featuring Amitab Bachan, Akshay Kumar, and Aditya Pancholi. The film met great success and became 4th highest grossing Bollywood film of 2002, his next release was “dil ha tumara” in which his opposite was Preity Zinta. This film was a flop.
In the following year, Rampal played a leading role in Naresh Malhotra’s “Dil ka Rishta” he was paired with Aishwarya Rai. He earned positive reviews from the critics. It was ranked the 13th film of the year by box office collections. He earned a lot of name by playing the leading role in this film. His next role was in Tehzeeb in which he played the role of Muslim.
2014-2016
In 2004, Rampal collaborated with Rajiv Rai for the second time in his first action thriller Asambhav. His opposite was Priyanka Chopra. Here he played the role of Indian commando Captain Aadit Arya. The film shot in Switzerland. In 2005, he worked in Vaada, in which he played a lead role, but the film did not get success. Then Rampal played in film Elaan. This film was an average grosser at the box office.
Rampal also got his name and fame by playing in Yakeen in which he paired with Priyanka Chopra.
The first release of Rampal in 2006 was a love triangle “hum ko tum say piar ha” this film was a delayed release.
Arjun Rampal earned huge fame by his role in the film “Om Shanti Om” after that he gave an excellent performance in “rock on” in 2008.
2010 was a successful year for Rampal. He worked in Sajid Khan’s comedy film “house-full’ in which he cast in a supporting role. His next release was Rajneeti. In 2011, he performed in Ra. One which is a science fiction movie. Rampal played the role f police officer in” chakravyuh.” The film grossed the US $2.4 million. His role in film “inkar” was also awesome.
