Carrie Fisher was an American actress, writer, and comedian, who was well known for her role as Princess Leia Organa in the Star Wars films(1977 till 1983) for which she got much popularity and fame worldwide. Carrie Fisher was married to Paul Simon, a musician whom she met while filming Star Wars and dated from 1977 until 1983 for over 6 years. Carrie Fisher died on December 27, 2016, at age 60, at the UCLA Medical Center after intense care of four days. Her cause of death was stated to be a cardiac arrest/deferred later they also found Fisher had cocaine in her system, as well as traces of heroin, other opiates, and MDMA.
It happened when she was on a commercial flight on December 23, 2016, when she suffered a medical emergency during a transatlantic flight from London to Los Angeles.
Passengers next to her seat reported that she had stopped breathing and performed CPR in case. As soon as it landed she was rushed by ambulance to the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, where she was placed on a ventilator for almost 4 days.
Her death was confirmed by her only daughter, Bille Lourd. Just a day after Fisher’s death, her mother Debbie Reynolds suffered a stroke whose last words before getting a stroke was “I want to be with Carrie”.
