Dakota attended a local high school in Hawaii where he was physically active, playing several sports such as football and basketball, while he was also learning about the bounty hunting business from his father and his grandfather. While growing-up, Dakota was dreaming about becoming an actor, and was a member of his elementary school’s drama club and appeared in several of the school’s plays. However, after learning more about his family’s business, he decided he wanted to become a TV personality and a bounty hunter just as his grandfather, who he sees as his hero and main motivator.
Career as a bounty hunter

Dakota ended up being removed from the show in 2015 after he started dating Arvie Faith – his parents didn’t like the fact that his girlfriend was 16 and six years younger than him, telling him that it was okay if the difference was two years, but if the two wanted to stay together, he shouldn’t talk about their relationship during the show.
Dakota continued to mention his girlfriend. So in 2015, his mother gave him an ultimatum – break-up or leave the show. Dakota was removed from “Dog and Beth: On the Hunt on CMT” after he chose to continue dating Arvie.
Love life and relationships
Dakota dated Arvie Faith for two years – at first the family defended Arvie but it later turned out that she held something against Keith’s family, and although Keith stood up for her and left the show so he could date her, he later changed his mind and they separated. Dakota is currently dating Cheryl, and is keeping his model girlfriend away from media attention.
The two welcomed their son Asher on 25 January 2019, and Keith’s parents were thrilled to meet their grandson, with Beth (Duane Dog’s wife) writing on her Twitter account ‘My first great grand baby he’s adorable and he’s precious and he came 5 weeks early to meet me’. Dakota and Cheryl are not married, but are rumored to have become engaged in the summer of 2019.

Dakota is physically very active, as he goes to the gym five to six times per week to stay fit and he is a huge fan of the outdoors, spending just a little time at home.
Some of his hobbies include fishing, swimming, and surfing, while he also likes to play his guitar – he began taking lessons when he was 14 years old, and can today play nearly everything that is asked of him, and as he has stated, ‘I am most peaceful when playing and it helps me clear my head and focus.’ He likes to watch movies late at night, with his favorite actor and actress being Morgan Freeman and Angelina Jolie, while some of his favorite movies are “The Shawshank Redemption”, “Yes Man”, and “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider”. When he was 15, Duane became a member of an outlaw motorcycle club called Devils Disciples, and left home with them. When he was 23, he was sent to jail to serve five years after being convicted of first degree murder, however, he spent only a year and a half in Texas State Penitentiary, but during this time his wife La Fonda left him and married his friend. While in prison, Dakota stopped a person from escaping, and received ‘a congratulatory remark by a Corrections Officer’, which motivated him to become a bounty hunter.
He shot to fame after capturing Max Factor in Mexico on 18 June 2003 – Max was a rapist and a drug dealer who fled the US during his trial.
Duane was helped by his son Leland and their friend Tim, but the three, as well as Max Factor, were arrested by the Mexican authorities, because bounty hunting is illegal in Mexico. After being released on bail, Duane and the others escaped to the US where they were arrested by US Marshalls because the Mexican government had a warrant out for them, however, the US decided not to extradite them, and they were released on bail. On 30 August 2004, the first episode of Duane’s TV series “Dog the Bounty Hunter” was released, and the series ultimately counted eight seasons before it ended in 2012.

Tegnell from 1979-’82, and the same year, he married Lyssa Rae Brittain who was the reason behind his divorce from Anne, but they divorced in 1991.
