Karsen’s father, Raymond Allen Liotta, was born on 18 December 1954, in Newark, New Jersey USA. His biological parents left him right after his birth, and Ray was adopted by Mary and Alfred Liotta when he was six months old. His parents owned several businesses, surviving the lives of immigrants into the US.
