Early life and education

Gabriel spent the first eight years of his life in Turlock, where he was raised by his father who is a bus driver and his mother who is a lawyer – he has seven siblings, with his sister Talitha Bateman also becoming an actress.

Gabriel began attending an elementary school in Turlock, but after winning his first role in 2012, the family moved to California where he pursued a career in acting. He enrolled at a new school there, joined its drama club and began appearing in plays as well as movies and TV series, while also being physically active at school, playing both football and lacrosse. He enrolled at a local high school in Los Angeles in 2018 – apparently he isn’t planning on enrolling at college upon matriculation.

Appearances in movies

Gabriel made his debut film appearance in “George Biddle, CPA” in 2012, portraying the Kid of Many, and went on to portray a boy in “The Park Bench” short film in 2013. He gained recognition after playing Robert in the “Annabelle” horror mystery film in 2014, which starred Ward Horton, Annabelle Wallis and Alfre Woodard and follows the story of a couple who are forced into fighting their vintage doll which is possessed by a demonic force.

In 2015, he appeared in “Band of Robbers” and “Checkmate”, while the year 2016 saw him portray Martin in the “Lights Out” drama horror mystery film, which follows Rebecca who has to confront a supernatural spirit which is possessing her mother. In 2018, Gabriel appeared in “Benji” and “Saint Judy”, while 2019 saw him play Charlie Brenner in “Playmobil: The Movie”, Andy Barclay in “Child’s Play”, and Scot in “Robert the Bruce”. His most recent role has been in “Unhinged” in 2020, while he has recently been cast to portray Oliver in “Think Like a Dog”, which is set for release in 2021.

Appearances in TV series

Gabriel made his debut TV series appearance in the pilot of “Maker Shack Agency” in 2014, and in the same year appeared in an episode of “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Petals on the Wind”. He began portraying Ethan Taylor in “Stalker” in 2014, appearing in eight episodes until the show ended in 2015 – the show starred Dylan McDermott, Maggie Q, and Victor Rasuk and follows detectives who are working on stalker cases in Los Angeles.

In 2015, Gabriel appeared in three TV series – “Your Family or Mine”, “Wicked City”, and “Code Black” – while he won his next notable role in “American Gothic” in 2016, portraying Jack Hawthorne in 13 episodes of the series which follows members of a rich family living in Boston, who suspect that one of their relatives is working with a serial killer.

Gabriel’s most recent roles in TV series have been in “Outcast” in 2016 and 2017, and “The Dangerous Book For Boys” in 2018, while he has been cast to appear in “Cipher” set to be released in the second half of 2020.

Friends, love life, and relationships

Gabriel is close to only a couple of his friends – part of his bio section on his Instagram account reads ‘I don’t reply to dm’s’. Those who are used to seeing him around the school have stated that Gabriel is not as sociable as he was in the past, and that his fame has had a negative effect on him, making him not want to spend time with those ‘less cool’ than himself.

Although he is still very young, it is widely believed that Gabriel is currently in a relationship with a girl whom he met on the set of the “Outcast” TV series in 2017 – the two allegedly began dating shortly afterwards, and are still together since several of Gabriel’s fans have stated seeing the two walking hand in hand through the streets of Los Angeles.

Hobbies and other interests

Gabriel has his own favorites when it comes to famous actors and actresses ,who are Will Smith, Jim Carrey, and Meryl Streep, while some of the movies he likes watching the most are “Independence Day”, “Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls”, and “The Iron Lady”. He also enjoys watching TV , with his favorites being “Breaking Bad” and “The Witcher” among others. Gabriel is keen on playing sports such as football and soccer, winter is his favorite season as he likes snow and enjoys skiing and snowboarding, but he also likes playing beach soccer and volleyball in the summer.

He is a lover of animals, and has recently adopted a stray cat which he found while shooting for a TV series in Mexico. He named her Fate Algodon Aubrey Bateman and took her home with him – their story can be read on Gabriel’s Instagram account.
