Gael was raised alongside her brother James Duncan Anderson, a musician, by their father and their mother Shona Learoyd who was a housewife – Shona is Ian’s second wife.

Gael wanted to follow in her father’s and brother’s footsteps and become a singer, but eventually accepted that she wasn’t talented enough. He has been credited with appearing in roughly 45 movies and TV series, while he might be known best for his portrayal of Edgar ‘Egg’ Cook in the critically acclaimed drama series “This Life”, created by Amy Jenkins in 1996, and which also starred Jack Davenport and Amita Dhiri – it follows the lives of five best friends.
