Geir Børresen was a Norwegian actor, singer, entertainer, and painter. He made his film debut in Liv in 1967 and made his stage debut at Nationaltheatret in 1968. Also, he provided the voice of Trigger in the Norwegian dub of Robin Hood (1973 film). Moreover, he was renowned for his songs based on the comics series The Smurfs, and his albums I Smurfeland (1978), Sommer i Smurfeland (1979), and Alle gode ting er Smurf (1979). Sadly, Geir Børresen left this world on July 25, 2022.

Geir Børresen passed away on 25th July 2022 in Bærum. He dies at 79. The family’s spokesperson, lawyer Truls Haldorsen, confirms his death. Haldorsen told that the 79-year-old actor had his family around him until the very end. He died after a short illness. He is survived by his wife Wenche, two children, and grandchildren. It was in May that Børresen told that he had contracted bowel cancer. He received the diagnosis in September 2021.
