She’s revealed in her memoir that she was kidnapped while shopping with a friend at the mall when she was 13. The two girls went missing for 72 hours but managed to escape from the kidnappers, but unfortunately after being sexually assaulted during that period. She has revealed that her mom beat her mercilessly when she went back home and was unable to talk to her about the rape incident – one year later, she began acting weird at school, and was withdrawn when the emotional baggage became unbearable, and she has revealed that it was a school officer who noticed her, and probed her until she confessed to what had happened to her.
Steffans ran away from home to work as an exotic dancer when she was 16 years old – here movements at this time are somewhat vague, but it’s reported that she was sexually violated at gunpoint shortly afterwards, allegedly lived on the streets of Arizona and New York, before eventually relocating to Los Angeles, California, in 1999.

Steffans was 17 years old when she began dating the American rapper, Nathaniel T. Wilson, aka Kool G Rap in 1994. The duo welcomed a son named Naim Wilson in January 1998. The rapper was abusive towards Steffans, and once physically assaulted her to the extent of her being hospitalized. She ended her relationship with the rapper shortly after the birth of their son in 1999, and relocated to Los Angeles, California, to raise him in a conducive environment. She has given the full account of her suffering when she was with Kool G Rap in her book, “Confessions of a Video Vixen.”
In 2009, Steffans walked the aisle with the American actor, producer, and rapper, Darius McCrary, but sadly their marriage ended with a divorce in 2011 after Steffans accused McCrary of being physically abusive.
Karrine has dated several famous rappers and musicians. She was in an on-and-off relationship with the New Orleans rapper, Lil Wayne. She also dated the American rapper, Soulja Boy, and the duo was fond of posting their photos on their respective social media accounts.
