Childhood and education
Josh was raised in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan an only child, by his mother Barbara who worked several jobs to support herself and her son, while Josh never met his father.
He became interested in doing stand-up comedy at the age of eight, and often performed for his mother and grandmother. Josh studied at The Professional Performing Arts School, focusing on acting and stand-up comedy, and upon matriculation in 2004, he chose not to pursue a college degree but to focus on his acting career.
Early success
He was actually just 10 years old when he first performed, in the daytime variety program “The Rosie O’Donnell Show”, and was then invited to appear in the series “The Amanda Show”. Josh went on to practice at TADA! Youth Theatre, and perform at Carolines on Broadway.

His family helped him hire a nutritionist and a physical trainer, and Josh started off by taking long walks before he began running and working out at a gym. His nutritionist helped him choose a diet plan which would suit him – the hardest thing for Josh was to avoid eating sugar, but he managed to stick to the plan and lose weight.
