It was about the truths and lies behind online dating, and being a victim of catfishing – she agreed to be on the show in 2017, and Paris was also interviewed on ABC’s 20/20 about that.
She became popular for the photos she posted on her verified Instagram account, wearing skimpy outfits and showing off her curves. Paris has more than half a million followers on her account. She has an online site, parisdylanmodel.com, which sells posters of her wearing bikinis and lingerie. It was said that her photos ended up on online dating sites and men’s magazines.
Personal life
Paris is currently dating the 74-year-old American singer-songwriter, Don McLean, who met in early 2016, and became his social media manager.
It was not disclosed when they started dating, but photos of them as they travelled together were posted on their Instagram accounts since that year. She also accompanied Don on his concert tours.
From a recent interview with “This Morning” TV host Eamonn Holmes, Don told them that he is currently with Paris during this Covid19 pandemic lockdown. This revelation sparked anger from the viewers, especially when he talked about their 50-year age gap.
Who is Don McLean?
Don McLean was born on 2 October 1945, in New Rochelle, New York State, to parents Donald McLean of Scottish descent and Elizabeth Bucci of Italian descent. He was already interested in music of various genres at the age of five, as he would listened to the radio for hours.
He bought his first guitar when he was a teenager, and had opera lessons courtesy of his sister. McLean was leaning towards folk music as he was influenced by the Weavers’ “Live at the Carnegie Hall” recording in 1955, and he contacted and became friends with Erik Darling of the folk music quartet when he was 16.
In 1969, he recorded “Tapestry” under Mediarts Records, after being rejected by 72 record labels. The tracks in his debut studio album were all written by him, and although it received good reviews, it only became a commercial success when it was released again in 1971 under United Artists Records when it acquired Mediarts. Included in the tracks were “Castles in the Air” that made it to the Top 40 Billboard Easy Listening Chart and “And I Love You So,” which Perry Como recorded in 1973 and was nominated for a Grammy.

The “King of Rock ‘n’ Roll,” Elvis Presley, also did a cover, and it was included on his 22nd studio album, “Today.”
The “American Pie” single from the album of the same name that was released in 1971 topped the Billboard 100 chart in four weeks in 1972, and sold more than three million copies. Madonna, the Queen of pop, did a cover in 2000, and it became number one on the UK singles chart, and top 30 in the US. The song was number five on the “Songs of the Century” project of the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America), and was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2002.
Included on the album was “Vincent,” which topped the UK chart and reached number 12 in the US – it was a tribute to Vincent Van Gogh with the opening line, ‘Starry, starry night,’ making a reference to his 1889 painting “The Starry Night.” Josh Groban also did his own version of the song.
Throughout the years, many of the songs he’d written have been recorded by popular singers not just in the US but in other countries, so reaching a very wide audience. Don was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2004.
Don has married and divorced twice – his first wife was Carol Sauvion, who is the director and executive producer of the docuseries, “Craft in America,” and won the Peabody and Emmy award for this. They were married from 1969 to ’76, but didn’t have children.
His second wife was Patricia Schnier – they were married in 1987 and divorced in 2016 after 29 years, and have two children named Wyatt and Jackie.
McLean was arrested in July 2016 at his Camden home in Maine for alleged domestic violence. He pleaded guilty to four misdemeanors, and paid a $3,000 fine as part of the plea agreement and to avoid jail time, however, the domestic violence charge was dismissed. Patricia accused Don of having a violent temper, and suffered physical and verbal abuse throughout their three decades of marriage. She was then given a temporary order of protection against Don, who issued a statement saying that the past year had been difficult for them, and that he was not a villain.
His lawyer said that he pleaded guilty not because he was, but to keep the matter as private as possible, and to give closure to his family.

Catfishing scandal with Chris Andersen
Paris was involved in a scandal with NBA player Chris Andersen that resulted in an international criminal investigation.
The two began an online relationship in 2011 that went as far as X-rated conversations, exchanging nude photos, and a weekend tryst in Denver when they met for the first time. She was also befriended by Tom Taylor, who said he was Chris’ best friend. Paris said that upon meeting Chris for the first time, she shrugged off the inconsistencies between what they talked about that time and their online conversations.
After that weekend, she said that she would be meeting Blake Griffin at an L.A. Clipper event because a friend gave her tickets. Tom was enraged and threatened to have her raped and murdered if she went. He even said that Chris shared her photos with him, and he posted them online for a short while. She became frightened and told her mother about everything, and they called the police.
The lawyer of Chris said that someone claiming to be Paris’ mother emailed Chris that she knew that he spent the weekend with her 17-year-old daughter. He said Chris, who was 33 at that time, thought she was 21, and anyway that in Colorado the legal age is 15 so nothing criminal happened. However, the nude photos on his phone could be considered child pornography. He then sent $3,000 via paypal to protect Chris.
In May 2012, the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit seized Chris’ computer and phones. It made national headlines, and the Denver Nuggets let go of Chris, and he even had to leave town because of the scandal.
Investigations revealed that Chris and Paris didn’t know they were communicating through someone else. It was found out that it was a woman in her early 20’s named Shelly Chartier from Easterville in Manitoba, Canada who was responsible.

When interviewed by ABC’s Deborah Roberts, Shelly, now dubbed as the “Ghost of Easterville,” said she never imagined how easy it was to impersonate someone. On a whim, she pretended to be Chris and sent a message to Paris, a fan who wrote on his Facebook page, and started pretending to be one to the other and vice versa; she wanted to know how far it could go. Apparently, they were not her only victims, as there were 11 others in three years, as she had been creating Facebook pages and impersonating other celebrities. She was arrested in January 2013 and sentenced to 18 months in 2015, but released in October 2016 after 12 months.
