Who is Jack Met (AJR brothers)?
Jack Met of the band AJR, was born in New York City, USA, on 16 August 1997 – his zodiac sign is Leo and he holds American nationality. He is a singer, guitar player and a drummer, best known for being a member of the band AJR together with his three brothers – he is the youngest.
Early life and education
Jack was raised alongside his older brothers Adam and Ryan in New York City, by their father who was working at an insurance company, and their mother who is working at a local supermarket.
Jack attended the prestigious Professional Children’s School, which is the alumni of numerous people who have become famous in the entertainment industry.
Jack was eight years old when he became interested in making music with his brothers, and the three started singing in the streets of New York City when Jack was ten – they didn’t play their own songs because they had none, but focused on covering popular songs of famous artists; they would sing until the police would come and tell them to go away.
Jack was also interested in acting, and before he turned 12 appeared in the film “The Pink Panther 2” and an episode of the series “Law & Order: Criminal Intent”.
Jack matriculated from high school in 2015, and then enrolled at Columbia University, but decided to drop out while attending his second year there so that he could focus on his career as a musician.
Career as a singer
His career was officially launched when the boys got their permission to sing in Washington Square, and when they decided to record their own songs, their parents allowed them to turn their living room into a small music studio.
Inspired by famous artists such as Macklemore, Kanye West and Jon Bellion, the trio released their first single, “I’m Ready” on 22 August 2013, and Ryan sent the song to around 80 popular artists, including the singer and songwriter Sia who told her manager about the brothers. The video for the song was released on 15 October 2013, then on 20 December, the boys first extended play (EP) “6foot1” came out, later changing its name to “I’m Ready”. On 23 September 2014, the boys released their second EP entitled “Infinity” and comprising five songs, then also announced that they would be releasing their debut full-length album – it came out on 3 March 2015 entitled “Living Room”, and reached #20 on the Top Heatseekers Chart.
On 16 September 2016, AJR released their third EP “What Everyone’s Thinking” – one of the EP’s songs, “Weak” became their most popular song.
On 9 June 2017, AJR’s second full-length album entitled “The Click” was released, comprising songs such as “Weak”, “Drama and “Sober Up”, and featuring several artists including Rivers Cuomo. Since then the band hasn’t been very active in the past three years.
Awards and accolades
The boys were named Artists on the Rise by the CC Media Holdings not long after they debuted.
Their hit single “I’m Ready” topped the Next Big Sound Music Chart, and became certified platinum by both the Australian Recording Industry Association and the Recording Industry Association of America – their single “Weak” was also certified platinum.
The single “Sober Up” became certified gold, and reached #7 on Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles Chart.
Love life and girlfriend
Jack doesn’t like to talk about his personal matters, and usually doesn’t respond to messages related to his love life, but it is known that he has been dating his girlfriend Alba Avoricani for around five years now.
The two have both uploaded many pictures featuring themselves together onto their Instagram accounts, and Jack’s fans have investigated the relationship, including when they started dating and how. According to the rumors, Jack and Alba met at high school while attending senior year, and started dating shortly after. During these five years of their relationship, they haven’t split once, nor apparently had a big fight!
Jack hasn’t talked about any other girls he might have dated before he met Alba, so as of August 2020, he is in a relationship, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.
Hobbies and interests
Jack likes social media networks, and is very active on both Instagram and Twitter.
He is a lover of animals and has several pet dogs, while he’s volunteered at various animal shelters around New York.
Jack is very close to his brothers who he considers to be his best friends and the trio does numerous things together, including travelling and playing sports. Jack can play many instruments including melodica, keyboards and ukulele, and is said to be very good at programming and synthesizers.
He is also very sporting, as he can play a variety of sports while he is best at tennis and table tennis.
He likes to watch movies in his spare time, and his favorite actors and actresses are Al Pacino, Heath Ledger and Natalie Portman, and some of his favorite movies are “Scarface”, “The Dark Knight” and “V for Vendetta”.
