Lim Jae-beom, popularly known as JB, is a South Korean artist, singer, and songwriter. He is also well known as a leader of South Korean boy band Got7 formed under the JYP Entertainment company. The boy group consists of seven members Mark Tuan, Choi Young Jae, Bam Bam, Jackson Wang, Park Jin Young, and Kim Yugyeom, including him.

The idol was born as Lim Jae-Boom on 6 January 1994 in Goyang, South Korea. He is the only child of his parents whose identity is not available on the media. When he was a kid, his parents got divorced due to his dad’s drinking issues and later his mother re-married. He was born under the sun sign, Capricorn.
For his education, he attended Sewon High School. He later majored in Film at Knkuk University. Initially, he wants to be a dancer and is a former b-boy during high school. In 2009, he joined the JYP Entertainment after winning first place at the open audition with Jinyoung. Eventually, over time, he developed a wish to make career as a singer.

Before debuting as an idol, he already started to work as an actor. And had the first role of Jang Woo-Jae in the television drama ‘Dream High 2’. Then in 2012, he along with trainee Jin-Young debuted their music duo ‘JJ Project’ with the single ‘Bounce’. Following that, he appeared as Seo Mi-Joon on MBC’s drama ‘When a Man Falls in Love’.
Then on 16 January 2014, he along with Jin-Young joined the other five members to form a boy band group called Got7. In 2015, he featured ina lead role on the virtual musical television drama ‘Dream Knight’ along with GOT7 members and female lead Song Ha-Yoon. In March 2019, he collaborated with Got7 member Yugyeom and debuted as a Jus2 with their EP Focus. He wrote a song Defsoul or Def for his band and Offshore crew.
He has donated 10 million won to the Pohang Earthquake Relief Fund in November 2017. And recently in February 2020, he again donated 10 million won to the Hope Bridge Disaster Relief Association in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

He is single at the moment and not involved romantically to anyone right now. However, he has dated a few times when he was in high school. He later revealed that he was not allowed to date after his debut as well as a trainee. Though he once stated that his ideal type is the South Korean singer and actress Suzy.
JB had several injuries until now, he had injured his leg back in 2015 while shooting for Running Man. Following the year in 2016, he couldn’t able to participate in several GOT7’s Fly Tour concerts as well as M!Countdown performance due to a spinal disc injury.
