Geoffrey Arnold Beck was a well-recognized English guitarist who came to fame as a member of the rock band The Yardbirds. He was professionally known as Jeff Beck. He founded and fronted The Jeff Beck Group and Beck, Bogert & Appice. He utilized influences from multiple different genres, including jazz and electronica, and fronted the group Beck, Bogart & Apice. Les Paul’s “How High the Moon” was what got him interested in electric guitar as his first introduction to music was when Jeff began singing in choir when he was ten years old. He was previously employed as a painter and decorator, a groundsman on a golf course, and a car paint sprayer. Jeff Beck took birth on 24th June 1944 with the real name of Geoffrey Arnold Beck in Wallington, Surrey, England. He was British by nationality and mixed by ethnicity as he had German and English ancestry. Likewise, his religious belief was in the Christian religion and his race was white. Jeff lastly celebrated his 78th birthday in 2021 and as per his birthdate, his zodiac sign was Cancer. He was the son of his father, Arnold Beck, and his mother Ethel Beck. • Jeff Beck kicked off his career by playing guitar in a succession of groups, including Screaming Lord Sutch and the Savages in 1962 after which he formed the Nightshift with whom he played at the 100 Club in Oxford Street, and recorded a single, “Stormy Monday”.
• He then joined the Rumbles, a Croydon band, in 1963 for a short period as lead guitarist and was recruited by the Yardbirds to succeed Eric Clapton on the recommendation of fellow session musician Jimmy Page in March 1965.
• He recorded an instrumental titled “Beck’s Bolero” in May 1966 however, Jeff was fired during a U.S. tour for being a consistent no-show as well as difficulties caused by his perfectionism and explosive temper.
