• Initially, Jimmy was spotted one night by John Gibb of Brian Howard & the Silhouettes, who asked him to help record some singles for Columbia Graphophone Company, including “The Worrying Kind”.
• His first session for the label was the recording “Diamonds” by Jet Harris and Tony Meehan, which went to Number 1 on the singles chart in early 1963.
• He is credited with playing acoustic twelve-string guitar on two tracks on the Kinks’ debut album, “I’m a Lover Not a Fighter” and “I’ve Been Driving on Bald Mountain”, and possibly on the B-side “I Gotta Move”.

• In 1965, he was hired by Stones manager Andrew Loog Oldham to act as house producer and A&R man for the newly formed Immediate Records label. In the same year, he produced one of Dana Gillespie’s early singles, “Thank You Boy”. 
• In the mid-1960s, he joined the blues-influenced rock band “Yardbirds”. Later, the band was disbanded in 1968.

• Next, he reconfigured the band in 1968 with a new line-up that included himself, vocalist Robert Plant, drummer John Bonham, and multi-instrumentalist John Paul Jones. The new band was called “Led Zeppelin.”
• The band released their debut album “Led Zeppelin” in 1969 which featured a fusion of blues and rock music, and became a commercial success. The album includes Good Times Bad Times, Dazed and Confused, and Communication Breakdown.
• The album was followed by “Led Zeppelin II” (1969), “Led Zeppelin III” (1970), and “Led Zeppelin IV” (1971). The band then went on to become one of the best-selling bands in the United States. They released a total of nine studio albums, all of which reached the top 10 of the US Billboard album chart, with six of them reaching the No.1 spot.
• Tragedy struck when the band’s drummer John Bonham died in 1980. The band disbanded, and Page was inconsolable after the loss of his dear friend. For a long time, he refused to touch the guitar.
