Kyle Michael Shanahan, professionally known as Kyle Shanahan is an American football coach. He is the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers of the NFL. Previously, he served as an offensive coordinator for several NLF teams. The 49ers appointed Shanahan as their head coach in February 2017. He led the 49ers to Super Bowl LIV. Kyle Shanahan was born on 14 December 1979. His birth name is Kyle Michael Shanahan. His birth place is in Minneapolis, Minnesota in the United States. He holds an American nationality. He was born to a father, Mike Shanahan, and a mother, Peggy Shanahan. Around the time of his birth, his father was the head coach at the University of Minnesota. His zodiac sign is Sagittarius. He attended Saratoga High School in Saratoga, California and Cherry Creek High School in Greenwood Village in Colorado. Following high school, he accepted a scholarship offer by Carl Franks of Duke University. However, he redshirted his freshman year by transferring to the University of Texas at Austin. Kyle Shanahan Coaching Career Timeline

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers appointed Shanahan as the assistant coach for offensive quality control in 2004. 

Later in 2006, Houston Texas hired Shanahan as their wide receivers coach. 

At the time, he was the youngest position coach in the NFL. 

He was promoted to the Texans quarterback coach in 2007.

He declined the offer to become an offensive coordinator by the University of Minnesota in 2007.

The Texans promoted Shanahan as their new offensive coordinator in 2008 after Mike Sherman left the position. 

He left the Texans in 2010 to join the Washington Redskins. He was hired as their offensive coordinator. His father, Mike was their head coach at the time.

The Redskins fired all the coaching staff along with Kyle and his father in December 2013. 

He then briefly served as the offensive coordinator of the Cleveland Browns. He resigned from his post after his disagreement with the team’s management.

He was then hired as the offensive coordinator by the Atlanta Falcons in January 2015. 

Shanahan was named the NFL Assistant Coach of the Year for the 2016 season after the Falcon’s earned the highest-scoring offense in the league, as well as 11-5 record, a division title, and a Super Bowl LI. 

Falcons lost to the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl LI. 

A day after the Super Bowl on 6 February 2017, the San Francisco 49ers hired Shanahan as their head coach. 

As 49ers’ head coach, Shanahan won his first regular-season game against the New York Giants, after beginning the season 0-9.

The 49ers, under Shanahan, won only 4 games in the 2018 season.

Shanahan led the 49ers to finish 13-3 record in the regular season.
