Reality TV star Kylie Jenner was under heavy scrutiny for not crediting a designer after she wore and flaunted her dress on Instagram
Although situations might have calmed down now, Kylie Jenner has been somewhat still facing backlash for not tagging a local & all Black-owned business’s brand on Instagram.
Basically, on today’s episode of the Keeping Up with the Kardashians, the young star who is currently on a vacation with daughter Stormi Webster showcased the dress on Instagram. And, soon after she posted the picture, the designer of the dress aka Jedidiah Duyile happily took to Twitter to share the news.
The owner of LoudBrand Studios was highly congratulated by her followers. However, many of them also criticized Jenner for not tagging Duyile’s brand so she could have credited her work.
But the situation stirred up more with mixed feelings on the internet from there. Whilst some insisted that Jenner would have done her a favor by mentioning her products/brand, others claimed she wasn’t entitled to do so.
One argued with the point that no one tags or mentions every company or brand for wearing their clothes. Another, on the contrary, emphasized that it was Jenner’s duty as a celebrity to uplift the local businesses on her platform.
The whole thing, of course, reached out to Kylie who was later compelled to mention the designer on Instagram. Jenner also rejected the rumors that she limited her comment section to avoid criticisms over the matter.
But the good news is that Duyile’s UK based clothing brand has been doing great since the promotion. As a matter of fact, some of LoudBrand Studios’ collection had also been sold out.
So, can the netizen move on now?
