Early life and Education
Jamie Michelle Luner was born on 12 May 1971 in Palo Alto, California USA. She was raised Jewish in this suburban neighborhood of Los Angeles, with her older brother David, by their father Stuart Luner, who was a sales representative, and mother Susan Luner, who was an actress, but who divorced when she was three years old.
Luner’s maternal grandmother was Shirley Rosen, the actress known for “If You Don’t Stop It… You’ll Go Blind”.
When Luner was just four years old, she made her acting debut in a TV commercial for a brand of tissues – her mother was played by Suzanne Somers. In 1988 she won a local Shakespeare competition in the category of monologues, which proved her talent as a young aspiring actress. She matriculated from Beverly Hills High School in 1989, and then studied acting at the Professional Children’s School in New York City. She loved playing soccer as a kid, but stopped playing after she fell and hit her head.
In 1990, she went to the Epicurean Cooking School in Los Angeles, and worked as a cook in a French restaurant for a few years.
Career
When Luner was 14, she landed a role in the TV family series “Growing Pains” in 1985, and two years later appeared in its spin-off, “Just the Ten of Us”, and remained in both shows until 1990. That same year she made a guest appearance in an episode of the first season of the show “ABC TGIF”.
In 1992, she had a guest role in the TV series’ “Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventures” and “Married… With Children”.
The next year, she co-starred in the TV film “Moment of Truth: Why My Daughter?”, and appeared in its sequel, “Moment of Truth: Cradle of Conspiracy” in 1994.
Also in 1994 she made her feature film debut, when she portrayed Mindy in “Tryst”, a romantic thriller about a young man’s journey. That same year she appeared in “The St. Tammany Miracle”, as well as in several TV movies and series such as “Rebel Highway”, “Confessions of Sorority Girls” and “Diagnosis Murder”.
In 1996 she was cast as Peyton Richards in the TV drama series “Savannah”, but the show was canceled in 1997, after which she joined the cast of the TV romantic series “Melrose Place”, portraying Lexi Sterling and remaining in the show until it ended in 1999.
In 1999 Luner was cast in NBC TV series, “Profiler” as Rachel Burke, for the show’s final two seasons. In 2001, she made a guest appearance as Samantha Richardson in three episodes of the TV series “That’s Life”, and the next year appeared in the fantasy film “Warrior”. In 2003 she landed a recurring role in the TV crime series “10-8: Officers on Duty”, cast as Senior Deputy Ryan Layne. This wasn’t her only appearance in crime-related series in this period of time, as she also appeared in “CSI: Miami”, “NCIS”, “Criminal Minds” and “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation”.
In 2005 she appeared in two TV films, “Blind Injustice” and “Stranger in My Bed”, and the following year starred in the thriller “The Suspect”, about a wife accused of murdering her lawyer husband. In the next few years, she starred in several TV movies, such as “Nuclear Hurricane”, “Trust” and “Heat Wave”.
In 2009 she was cast as Liza Colby in the long-lasting TV series “All My Children”, remaining in the show for three seasons until 2011. In 2012 she starred in the drama film “Walking the Halls”, and made a guest appearance in the famous fantasy TV series “Supernatural”, alongside Jared Padalecki, Jim Beaver and Jensen Ackles.
During the following years, Luner appeared in many TV films, including “Stalked at 17”, “The Cheating Pact”, “The Wrong Girl” and “A Mother’s Revenge”. She was also a guest in many TV series, such as “The Glades”, “Two and a Half Men”, “True Blood” and “Better Call Saul”.

Personal Life
Luner started a relationship with her personal trainer, John Braz, in 1995, however, their relationship ended in 1999. Not much is known about her other romantic interests and she hasn’t been seen in public with any single man.

The Lawsuit
Luner made headlines in February 2018 when she was accused of drugging a 16-year-old boy, Anthony Oliver, and recording a sexual act between them back in 1998. The reports state that she gave the boy methamphetamines and whiskey, before raping him and videotaping the encounter.

The lawsuit was dismissed on 6th August 2018 based on the statute of limitations, as Oliver filed the lawsuit 20 years after the act, when there was no more any legal basis. Luner’s team of lawyers claimed that the report was false, and that Oliver was attempting extortion, pointing the fact that he already had a history of dropped lawsuits. The appeal was filed on 2nd February 2019 and it was claimed that, in the previous decade, Oliver has filed no less than 27 federal lawsuits against various celebrities. Oliver, who was once even a mayoral candidate for a city in Georgia, US, was sentenced to 20 years in prison in October 2019.
