She probably benefits from the success of her husband who has a net worth estimated to be over $9 million.

Early Life and Education

At a young age, Kate developed a love for the arts thanks to her father, a retired priest turned poet, who loved various expressions of art, and this passion was passed on to his daughter. As a child, she began training in ballet while also taking classes in singing and acting. Ballet remained her biggest passion and while she was a high school student, she joined the Ann Arbor Civic Ballet Company.

After matriculating from high school, she opted not to take college education just yet, as she briefly lived in Scandinavia and took a trip across Europe as a part of an art pilgrimage. After her return to the US, she enrolled at George Washington University under an arts scholarship, taking up a degree in liberal arts. It was during this period that she met and later started a relationship with TJ Miller.

Career Achievements

After completing her degree, Gorney decided to pursue her interest in acting, gaining a few notable roles during her career. One of her first big projects was the television show “Gossip Girl”, in which she portrayed the barista at Bleeker Inn for nine episodes.

Kate Gorney

The show stars Blake Lively and Leighton Meester, following the lives of adolescents living in the upper-class area of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. The show was very successful, running for six seasons and winning numerous awards.

She also made an appearance in the television show “Fringe”, created by JJ Abrams which follows the characters of Anna Torv and Joshua Jackson who are a member of a fictional division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) which tackles supernatural occurrences. These events often link back to a parallel universe.

The show has grown to have a huge lore and mythology surrounding it, gaining a cult following over the years. Kate has also done film work including “Lovesick”, “Tattoo”, “A Love Story” and “Twelve”. One of her latest acting projects is “The Emoji Movie”, in which she voiced the character Heart Eyes. Apart from acting, she mainly does a lot of painting, selling her works online while also engaging in exhibitions.

Husband – TJ Miller

After completing his studies, TJ made his debut in the film “Cloverfield” which was also a creation of JJ Abrams. It’s a found footage type of film, following the story of residents in New York City who are in the midst of an attack of monsters, one of which is massive in size.

The film received positive reviews, and helped spawn a franchise. His next big project would be the “How to Train Your Dragon” films, a successful animated franchise that he was only a part of for two films due to some unspecified issues that led him to be dropped by Dreamworks.

In 2017, he worked on the television show “Silicon Valley”, in which he portrayed Erlich Bachman. The show aired on HBO, and tells the story of five people who become involved in the creation of a start-up company in the popular technological titular region; the show ran for six seasons.

Concurrently he also portrayed the character Weasel in both “Deadpool” and “Deadpool 2”, based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. Weasel is the friend and sidekick of Deadpool.

TJ Miller Controversies

While Miller has had a successful career, he’s also been in issues that have led him to lose some of his big opportunities. In 2016, he was involved in an assault allegation from an Uber driver, arrested and later had a civil settlement with the driver. The assault happened due to him getting into a heated argument with the driver over Donald Trump, of whom he is highly critical.

The following year, amidst the Me Too movement, the online publication “The Daily Beast” published an article claiming that he had sexually assaulted a woman during his college days. The publication claimed that the incident was corroborated by several people, but he later released a public statement, denying the allegations, and accusing the woman who had been kicked from his comedy troupe back then due to bad behavior for bringing false accusations. He also accused her of undermining other legitimate claims of women. Even Kate spoke out against the accuser and stood by her husband.

He’s also been accused by actress Alice Wetterlund for being unprofessional and inappropriate during their time together in “Silicon Valley”. She expressed her grievances online – prompting HBO to look into the matter. However, since then, there has been no information about any resolution from this issue.

Personal Life

Kate and TJ”s relationship began in college after they met on a school production of “A Chorus Line”. They stayed together for several years, and he proposed to her while on a trip to the LA County Museum of Art, at the well-known Levitated Mass installation. While he fumbled the proposal a bit, the comedic effect made it more genuine and she accepted. The two were married in 2015 at the Denver Botanic Gardens. They have no children, and haven’t expressed a desire to have any.
