Childhood and education
Ruairi was raised an only child in Howth by his parents, who bought a stud farm when Ruairi was 14 and the family thus moved to the countryside to work on it.
Ruairi became interested in acting during his first year at high school, and so joined the school’s drama club and appeared in nearly all the plays performed at the school, mostly playing lead characters – his teacher recommended him to her friend who worked at a local theatre, and Ruairi then got to appear in several theatre plays.
He was also physically active, and was an avid soccer player who played for the school’s team. It is believed by many that Ruairi was in a relationship with Charlotte Hope, a British actress who appeared alongside him in the series “The Spanish Princess”, and who might be known best for her portrayal of Myranda in the series “Game of Thrones”. The two have given several interviews together, and Charlotte has complimented Ruairi many times during these, however, neither of them have confirmed the rumors regarding their alleged relationship.
As of November 2020, Ruairi is single, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.
Hobbies and other interests
He is interested in photography, and many pictures taken by him can be found uploaded onto his Instagram account.
