Husband – Tony Robbins
Tony was born in Hollywood, California, the eldest among three children. He lived mostly with his mother after his parents divorced, and she remarried to a former professional baseball player who adopted him, giving him the last name Robbins.
The family moved to Asuza where he grew up and attended Glendora High School. At a young age, he displayed a charisma that led him to become the president of the student body. However, the family wasn’t well off, and he had to take side jobs to help make money for his siblings.
He was also often the subject of abuse with his parents’ relationship fraying, and to escape the chaos he left home after high school. He didn’t go to college, and spent his early working life as a janitor. Eventually he discovered the author and motivational speaker Jim Rohn, who inspired him with, leading him to his current career path.
He began promoting Rohn’s work, joining his team in marketing and inviting guests for seminars. This eventually led him to do seminars as a young adult, increasing his knowledge through learning from experts such as John Grinder, who popularized Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP).
Rise to Fame – Tony Robbins

Controversies – Tony Robbins
With his extensive career, Tony has also seen his share of controversies which is often common for people in his line of work. In 1995 he paid over $200,000 in fines for violating the franchise rule of the Federal Trade Commission. Five years later, he had a lawsuit filed against him by financial author Wade Cook as Tony was using a lot of phrases from his books in his seminars, phrases which are copyrighted.
Cook was to be paid $600,000 after the judge ruled in favor of him; the case was later appealed and settled off-court.Since 2012, he’s been covered by media outlets for his promotion of fire-walking, which he incorporated into his seminars since learning about it early in his career, which many have deemed unsafe and hazardous.
Various reports state that a lot of his seminar-goers who participate in fire-walking tend to go to the hospital right after, to treat injuries and even serious burns.
In 2019, publications led by Buzzfeed began supposedly an expose about him, with many women coming forward declaring Tony’s history of sexual abuse and harassment. He has denied all claims, and even filed a lawsuit against Buzzfeed for trying to destroy his reputation.
Personal Life
Sage and Tony were no strangers to marriage when they met. He was first married to Rebecca Jenkins whom he met at a seminar, and they stayed together for 14 years. He also has a son from a former girlfriend. In 2000, Sage met him during a seminar event. She was married at the time, but the two became romantically involved, and her now former husband blamed Tony for being a wife-stealer, and his seminar the reason for their divorce. The two married a year later, and now reside in Manalapan, Florida, but are often seen together as they travel for work.
