The talented singer was born on 2 May 1989 in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania. He was born as Samuel Story Sau-Sum Tsu to Hong Kong emigrated father George Tsui and Iowa based white ethnicity mother Judy Tsui. Samuel grew up with his brother Kent Kein. He has a mixed ethnicity of Chinese and English and holds the ethnicity of America.
Regarding his education, he completed his schooling at Wissahickon High school along with fellow YouTuber Kurt Schneider. During his high school years, he has actively participated in school musicals and drama. Then he graduated from Yale University with a major in Classics (Greek) in 2011.
