Sergey Brin is an American-Soviet business magnate, computer scientist, and Internet entrepreneur. He is best known as the co-founder of Google. He is the President of Google‘s parent company Alphabet Inc. until stepping down from the role on December 3, 2019. He is the 12th richest person in the world as of October 2016. After graduation, he enrolled at Stanford University to acquire a Ph.D. in computer science. There he met Page, with whom he built a web search engine. The program became popular at Stanford, and they suspended their Ph.D. studies to start up Google in Susan Wojcicki’s garage in Menlo Park. In 2013, Sergey had a cameo role in the comedy film The Internship. In 2001, Sergey Brin made his first TV show appearance on the comedy game show, To Tell the Truth.

Sergey Brin was born on August 21, 1973, in Moscow, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union. His born name is Sergey Mikhaylovich Brin. He is American-Soviet by nationality and his ethnicity is Jewish Russian. His father, Mikhail Brin, is a mathematics professor at the University of Maryland, and his mother, Eugenia, is a researcher at NASA‘s Goddard Space Flight Center. He is the only child born to his parents. His mum has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Brin is Jewish and not religious. 

Brin initially went to Paint Branch Montessori School. Then, he got enrolled at the Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Greenbelt, Maryland. After graduating from high school, he got admission to the University of Maryland in 1990 and graduated in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science with honors in computing science and mathematics from the Department of Computer Science. Later, he got enrolled in a graduate fellowship from the National Science Foundation at Stanford University. But he didn’t complete his Ph.D. studies as he wanted to focus on the development of Google.
