He started playing football for the youth team of Turkgucu Velbert and then played for the youth team of SSVg Velbert, TVD Velbert, and Rot-Weiss Essen. Later on, in 1996, he joined the youth team of Bayern Leverkusen II and began his career at the club. He then played for Germinal (loan), 1. FC Nurnberg, Manisaspor, Eskisehirspor, Fenerbahce, Besiktas, and Istanbul Basaksehir (loan).
On the international level, he has represented Turkey at various age levels. He has represented Turkey at U15, U16, U17, U18, U19, U20, and Turkey B levels. He was runner-up in the European Championship with the U19 national team of Turkey. In 2010, he was called up to the Turkey national team under new coach Guus Hiddink, for preparation in the U.S., but did not earn any caps.
