Who is Shane Paul McGhie?

Shane Paul McGhie was born in Los Angeles, California USA, on 26 November 1993 – his zodiac sign is Sagittarius and he holds both American and Jamaican nationality. He is an actor, perhaps best known for his portrayal of Deputy Joseph Harris in the procedural drama series “Deputy”, which began airing on 2 January 2020 and which stars Stephen Dorff, Yara Martinez and Brian Van Holt. The series was created by Will Beall, and follows Deputy Bill Hollister who becomes the sheriff of the Los Angeles County after the former sheriff dies – it has so far aired 13 episodes.

Early life, family and education

Shane was raised in Los Angeles by his Jamaican parents who were both active in the entertainment industry, and after they took him to the theatre at which they performed, at the age of four Shane became interested in becoming an actor. He spent a lot of his time in front of his bedroom mirror, practicing his Oscar speech in front of his audience made of plush animals. Shane studied acting at the Beverly Hills High School Theatre Arts Department, where he was taught by Joel Pressman, Josh Butchart and Herb Hall, and he also practiced his vocal skills with the Madrigals choir. While attending his senior year of high school, he appeared in the play “Fiddler on the Roof”, portraying Tevye, the lead character.

After matriculation in June 2011, Shane enrolled at Cal State Northridge, switched to the University of Southern California after a year, from which he obtained his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in acting in 2016.

Roles in movies

Shane made his debut film appearance in 2014, when he portrayed Jake in the short comedy film “Kisstory”, directed and written by Sarah Beth Comfort and Dylan Visvikis, and the following year saw him appear as Spike in the biographical crime movie “Victor”, which failed to attract much attention.

In 2015 ne appeared in another short film, “Hufflepuff: A Harry Potter Rap Parody”, and then voiced his first video game character in 2017, when he lent his voice to MyPlayer and DJ in “NBA 2K18”. In the same year, Shane portrayed Nate in the short musical “Blue Room”, written and directed by Anjoum AGrama, while the following year saw him play the lead character Chris Hart in the short drama film “Broke Lovers”, written and directed by Leon Pierce Jr., and which follows two actors who are in love.

In 2019, Shane played Jamal Barry in the romantic comedy movie “What Men Want”, which starred Taraji P. Henson, Kristen Ledlow, and Josh Brener, and he also appeared as Landon in the romantic movie “After”, which was closely based on the eponymous novel by Anna Todd, and which won four awards. Shane also appeared in the drama movie “American Skin” in the same year.

Three of his most recent roles in movies have been in the drama film “Foster Boy” in 2019, the comedy movie “The Last Shift” directed and written by Andrew Cohn, and the romantic drama “After We Collided” both in 2020.

Roles in TV series

Shane made his TV series debut appearance in 2017, when he guest starred as Carlton Silver in the episode “Partners” of the crime series “Rebel”, and in the same year appeared in a single episode of the series’ “Criminal Minds” and “Shameless”.

He gained recognition in 2018 after he starred as Jude Leland in four episodes of the horror series “Sacred Lies”, which starred Elena Kampouris, Kevin Carroll and Kiana Madeira, and follows a teenager who has no hands, who is sent to juvenile detention because it is believed she knows who murdered her cult’s leader.

The following year saw Shane star as Connor in the mini-series “Unbelievable”, while he also guest starred in the episode “Down from Dover” of the musical comedy series “Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings”.

His two most recent appearances in TV series have been in the 2020 episode “The Heat” of the action adventure series “Amazing Stories”, and seven episodes of the drama series “Greenleaf”.

Love life and wife

Shane becomes very secretive when it comes to his love life, but he has been linked to the actress and model Khadijha Red Thunder by his fans.

There are rumors circulating the internet that the two began dating while shooting for the movie “After”, and that they continued after the shooting ended. Several of Shane’s fans have claimed to have seen the two walking together hand in hand, and eating at fancy restaurants, but neither Khadijha nor Shane have commented on the rumors. Khadijha’s role in “After” was also her first movie role, a performance for which she was praised.

It is also believed that Shane was in a long-term relationship with a girl he met while attending his senior year of high school, and that the two broke up after three years of being together for unknown reasons.

Rumor has it that he is today living with his wife as the two married in early 2020, but there has been no proof to support these claims.

As of August 2020, Shane is single, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.

Hobbies and other interests

Shane is a philanthropist and enjoys doing charity work, while he is a supporter of the BlackLiveMatter movement and has walked with the protesters around the US on several occasions.

He has his own favorite actors and actresses some of whom are Chadwick Boseman, Robin Williams and Angelina Jolie, and some of his favorite movies are “The Black Panther”, “Patch Adams” and “Good Morning, Vietnam” – Shane was devastated after he learned that Chadwick died of cancer, and uploaded his picture onto his Instagram account to pay respect.

He is keen on travelling, and is hoping to visit Paris, France in 2021, which is his dream travel destination.

Shane is very sporting, as he plays basketball and tennis, and he also has several training sessions at the gym each week, thus his fit body – he is following a somewhat strict diet, but can’t stop eating fast food for good.

Shane’s age is 26. His hair and eyes are black, his height is 6ft 1in (1.85m) and he weighs around 172lbs (78kgs).

As of August 2020, his net worth has been estimated at over $500,000.
