Taylor played college football at Michigan, where he twice received first-team All-American honors, and was selected by the Titans in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft.   • Taylor redshirted his freshman year in 2009 after he enrolled at the University of Michigan. He did not play in the 2010 season opener but he appeared in 11 games, including nine as a starter, during the season.   • He was a starting offensive tackle for the Wolverines as a redshirt sophomore. After the 2011 Big Ten Conference football season, he earned second-team All-conference recognition. Moreover, he was an honorable mention All-American selected by Pro Football Weekly.
  • Before he started his 2012 season, he was selected by the media as one of five Big Ten Offensive players to watch. NFL Career

  • Taylor Lewan was selected by the Tennessee Titans as the eleventh pick in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He signed a four-year $11.48 million fully guaranteed contract and a signing bonus of $6.67 million with the team. He played in 11 games starting six of them due to injuries in his rookie year in 2014. 
  • He was named the starting left tackle in his 2015 season.  He started in 15 games and allowed five sacks. He remained the starting left tackle, starting all 16 games in his 2016 season. He scored his first NFL touchdown on a 10-yard pass from Marcus Mariota in a 34-26 loss to the Indianapolis Colts on 23rd October 2016. She was selected to his first Pro Bowl for the 2016 season. 
  • On April 25, 2017, the Titans picked up the fifth-year option on Lewan’s rookie contract. He started all 16 games in his 2017 season. He was named to his second Pro Bowl on 19th December 2017. 
  • On 27th July 2018, he signed a five-year, $80 million contract extension with the Titans with $50 million guaranteed, making him the highest-paid offensive lineman in league history. 
  • During a 27-20 Week 1 road loss to the Miami Dolphins, Lewan suffered a concussion after a blindside hit by Andre Branch due to which he missed the rest of the game. After the hit injury, he returned to play against Jacksonville Jaguars. During a 13-12 Week 5 loss to the Buffalo Bills, Lewan left the game early due to a foot injury.
  • On December 18, 2018, he was selected for his third consecutive Pro Bowl. He was ranked 77th by his fellow players on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2019.
  • He announced in a video on 24th July 2019 stating that he was suspended four games after failing a drug test for a banned substance. He was activated on October 4.
