Early life and family
Mor Toledano was born in 1988, in Herzliya, Tel Aviv Israel, into a family of Jewish Moroccan descent. She spent her early years living in Tel Aviv until she turned 12, when her parents decided to move to the US, settling in Sacramento, California. From a young age, Mor took a lot of music classes, learning how to play the violin and the piano; she also took vocal classes, but later stated that she couldn’t sing very well.

To earn her MD, she entered the respected David Geffen School of Medicine at the same university.

Mor moved on and eventually took the position of a resident of the Family Medicine Residency Program, based at Kaiser Foundation Hospital located in Fontana, California.

Mor met Ben Shapiro when she was a senior high school student. They couple became engaged in 2007, and married in 2008. Both Mor and Ben practice Orthodox Judaism, so they had a traditional Jewish wedding, held in Acre, Israel.

In his interview to Dave Rubin on “The Rubin Report” show, Ben shared that he was against the government subsidizing gay marriages, in fact against the government getting into any kind of marriage, since he believed the government shouldn’t be involved in marriages at all. However, his words were taken out of context, and provoked a lot of speculation in the media about his being allegedly against gay marriage. ‘Now that the government enshrined gay marriage, the next step is going to be going to religious people and tell them they have to engage with same-sex weddings. So, as a religious person, this is problematic to me’, said Ben. answering the tough question of Dave Rubin.
Ben also stated that he wouldn’t go to a gay wedding, as he doesn’t want to make anyone to join his wedding in his synagogue.
