Early life and education

Thomas was raised in New York City by his father who is a businessman, and his mother who is a former teacher – the family spent all of their holidays in the mountains, where Thomas learned how to ski at the age of four, and immediately fell in love with it.

He attended Eleanor Roosevelt High School where he ,was physically active playing soccer and football while he was also one of the best students. Upon matriculation, he enrolled at St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in 2001.

Upon graduation he started working at a local tech company, while pursuing his career as a professional ski racer. The highlight of his career was in 2002 when he competed in the international competition Super-G at the Winter Olympics, finishing ninth. She made her Olympic debut when she was 17, competing at the 2002 Winter Olympics, and the following year saw her win a silver medal at the Junior World Championships held at Puy Saint-Vincent in France. She also won silver at the 2004 USA Alpine Championship held at Mt. Alyeska Resort in Alaska. She suffered an injury while competing in Italy, and was evacuated by a helicopter and taken to the nearest hospital, and although she was advised not to continue competing, she came back to the slope two days later and finished eighth.
