Seraina grew up in Zurich, and at a young age became interested in the fashion world. Aside from Motley Crue, Mars has been known for contributing songs to other popular bands, including Evanescence, Papa Roach, Hinder, and Escape the Fate. He also collaborated with Black Smoke Trigger for the song “The Way I’m Wired” which was released in 2019. During his career, Mick has been known for using guitars that were current fads, such as a BC Rich, Gibson Les Paul, Superstrats, and the Kramer. His favorite guitars are Fender Stratocasters, often models from the 1960s which he is most comfortable with, a highly customized guitar suited to his style.
It’s known that Mick suffers from ankylosing spondylitis, a form of arthritis that affects his pelvis and spine. He was diagnosed with the disease when he was 17 years old, and has suffered from chronic pain for most of his life. The disease has impaired his movement, even leading him to undergo hip replacement surgery in 2004. He admitted that in recent years his lower spine has frozen solid and has given him scoliosis, resulting in him decreasing three inches in stature.
Personal Life
Seraina was not Mick’s first wife, as he was first married to Sharon Deal in 1970 which lasted for three years before a divorce.
His next marriage was to Emi Canyn in 1990, who was heavily involved with the Motley Crue at the time. The marriage also lasted for three years, with Mick later going public about how his ex-wife was deceiving him. He met Seraina at a concert in 2007 and the two began dating shortly after, which attracted a lot of media attention due to their 33-year age difference. She publicly stated that she was in love with him, which increased attention on them even more. They stayed together for six years until deciding to marry in 2013, however, the couple rarely make public appearances together. They reside in Nashville, Tennessee.
