Who is Spider-Man star Christopher Daniel Barnes?

Christopher Daniel Barnes was born in Portland, Maine USA, on 7 November 1972 – his zodiac sign is Scorpio and he holds American nationality. He is an actor and a voice actor, perhaps still best known for lending his voice to Spider-Man in the eponymous animated superhero series which was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, and which also starred Sara Ballantine and Edward Asner. The story follows a superhero who has the abilities of a spider, and who is fighting crime in New York City – it was nominated for four awards.

Early life and education

Christopher was raised an only child in Portland by his hard-working parents, who spent most of their time working and trying to put food on the table. Christopher was a very active child as he was interested in a variety of things such as reading books, writing stories, and playing a variety of sports such as Shotokan and Kenpo (martial arts).

He launched his acting career while attending elementary school, which is why he wasn’t very interested in studying later. However, he did matriculate in 1990, but then decided to focus on becoming a famous actor rather than pursue a college degree. It appears that Christopher changed his mind ten years later, as he enrolled at a university and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2004, while he obtained his Master of Arts degree in 2009.

Christopher made his debut TV series appearance in 1985, when he portrayed Paul Ryan in the soap opera “As the World Turns”, starring Colleen Zenk, Don Hastings and Elizabeth Hubbard, and which is about the Hughes and Steward families living in Midwest Oakdale – the series aired from 1956 to 2010 and won 90 awards, while it was nominated for 456 others. Christopher went on to appear in a single episode of several series, such as the science fiction “Time Trax” in which he played Josh Elliott in 1993, the comedy “Empty Nest” portraying Raymond in 1994, and the anthology series “CBS Schoolbreak Special” in 1995. He was then invited to guest star as Greg Brady in the episode “A House to Die For” of the comedy series “Wings”, which starred Tim Daly, Steven Weber and Crystal Bernard, and which follows two brothers who are trying to run an airline – it won three awards and was nominated for six others, including three Primetime Emmys.

Christopher’s following role was of a Fraternity Brother in the episode “The Brotherhood” of the paranormal anthology miniseries “Haunted Lives: True Ghost Stories”, before he was invited to guest star as Donal Miller in the episode “To Party or Not to Party” of the teen comedy series “Clueless”, created by Amy Herckerling and which follows the rich girl Cher (Rachel Blanchard) while she is living with her family in Beverly Hills. In 1997, Christopher started voicing the lead character Clown in the adult animated series “Spawn: The Animated Series”, which also starred Keith David, Richard Dysart and Dominique Jennings, and the series won four awards including two Primetime Emmys.

Cristopher portrayed Lenny in four episodes of the teen series “Beverly Hills, 90210” before he was invited to play Leonard Rickets, one of the lead characters in the comedy series “Malcolm & Eddie” which also starred Malcolm-Jamal Warner and Eddie Griffin, and follows a responsible young man Malcolm who starts sharing his apartment in Kansas City with Eddie Sherman, who is a tow truck owner.

In 1999, Christopher voiced Stripes in the animated series “Sonic Underground”, and was then invited to guest star in two episodes of the drama series “7th Heaven”, and single episodes of the legal drama series “JAG” and the comedy series “Girlfriends”. Some of his most recent roles in TV series have been in the fantasy “Touched by an Angel” portraying Dennis Loggins, and the animated comedy “Jackie Chan Adventures” in which he voiced Taggart McStone – both in 2001 – and the superhero animated series “Ultimate Spider-Man” in which he voiced five characters from 2013 to 2016.

Christopher made his debut film appearance in 1984, when he was cast to portray Kevin Palmer Jr. in the romantic comedy thriller “American Dreamer”, which starred JoBeth Williams and Tom Conti, and is about a woman who, after being involved in an accident, wakes up believing she is the character she created named Rebecca Ryan.

The film won JoBeth a Kansas City Film Critics Circle award for Best Actress.

He went on to portray the supporting character Tom Harding in the drama movie “Picking up the Pieces” in 1985, before he voiced his first movie character Prince Eric in the animated musical romantic fantasy “The Little Mermaid” in 1989, which was directed and written by Ron Clements and Josh Musker. It starred Jodi Benson, Samuel E. Wright and Rene Auberjonois, and follows a mermaid princess who gives up her voice to become human – the movie was a huge success, as it won 12 awards including two Oscars, while it was nominated for eight others.

In 1990, Christopher appeared as Dave in the movie “Exile”, before he starred in the comedy science fiction film “Frankenstein: The College Years”, also starring William Ragsdale and Larry Miller, and which is about two teenagers who revive Frankenstein who then becomes a football star, and one of the most popular boys at school.

Some of Christopher’s following roles were in the drama film “Murder Without Motive: The Edmund Perry Story” in 1992, the comedy film “The Brady Bunch Movie” in 1995, and another comedy movie “A Very Brady Sequel”. In 2007, he was invited to voice several characters in the animated musical movie “Disney Princess Enchanted Tales: Follow Your Dreams”, while his most recent film role has been in 2012, when he voiced Adult Speckles in the English Dub of the South Korean computer-animated epic adventure movie “The Dino King”.

Christopher voiced his first game character – Sergeant Sonny Bonds – in the adventure video game “Police Quest III: The Kindred” in 1991, and in 1998, he voiced several characters in the role playing game “Return to Kondor”.

The year 2002 saw him voice Scott Donovan in the game “Law & Order: Dead on the Money” while he voiced Scott again in the following year in “Law & Order: Double or Nothing”. In 2005, he voiced Price Eric in the critically acclaimed action role playing video game “Kingdom Hearts II”, as well as in its sequel “Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix+” in 2007. Three years later, he lent his voice to Spider-Man Noir in the game “Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions”, again in “Spider-Man: Edge of Time” released in 2011 and “Marvel Heroes” which came out in 2013. Some of his most recent voicing roles in video games have been in “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” voicing Donald Menken in 2014, “Spider-Man Unlimited” in which he voiced both Electro and Vulture also in 2014, and “Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order” in 2019 in which he voiced Electro.

Love life and relationships

Christopher has married twice. He met his first wife Dawn Nallick sometime in the ‘90s and although he has kept the details of that marriage to himself, it is widely believed that the two rushed into marriage after only several months of being together. They were married for around five years before splitting ways for unknown reasons, although it’s believed that it was because Dawn wanted to have children while Christopher wanted to focus on his acting career.

In 2010, he met Rebecca Guyadeen, who has been working as Senior Sales Manager at Calypso St. Barth in Thousand Oaks, California since November 2014; they married in 2012 after being together for two years, in a private ceremony attended by only their closest friends and family. The two don’t have children; they’re living together at their home in Los Angeles.

Hobbies and other interests

Christopher is keen on watching animated movies and TV series as much as he’s keen on voicing characters in them; some of his favorites are the films “Shrek” and “How To Train Your Dragon”, while his favorite series are “South Park” and “The Simpsons”. He also enjoys watching live-action films, and some of his favorite actors and actresses are Will Smith, the late Robin Williams, and Natalie Portman, while his two favorite films are “Leon The Professional” and “Seven Pounds”.

He is physically very active as he has trained n a variety of martial arts, while he is also a huge fan of yoga. Some of his other hobbies include playing the guitar, writing stories and reading comedy and romantic books. Christopher likes to travel, and has been all around the US to shoot for his films and TV series, while he’s also been to many European countries, including Italy and Spain.
